The force of a living planet can be seen in the dramatic movement its surface in the shape of the tectonic plates and volcanoes that form, define and redefine our world.
This collection is a celebration of the texture created by tectonic plate movement and the sumptuous organic liquid yet solid shapes of set volcanic lava in a minimal modernist expression. The age old traditional technique of forging metal has been applied in this collection of individual pieces reflecting the uniqueness of the process. Delicate interjections of 18ct yellow gold on the surface add subtle luxury and enhance the forged surface of these wearable plaques and plates of the earth's crust. The organic shapes are sculpted in wax and then cast, sometimes with gems in place, in recycled metals.
